Greetings Firestone Park Family,
Welcome to Firestone Park Elementary, the home of the RAMS. Thank you for choosing our school community as your partner to educate your child. This is a very different time in school education. Due to unprecedented events, Akron Public Schools opening will be virtual. I want to thank you for your patience and flexibility during this time as we plan for a successful online school experience. The goal of the Firestone Park staff is to provide guidance for you and your child through this process. Our ongoing partnership is extremely important.
What resources are available through the Akron Public School District?
The Akron Public Schools Homepage provides many resources. Type in Akron Public Schools Homepage, look for the yellow icon with a light bulb that says APS Connected Learning. Once you select this icon click on it, you will see the APS Connected Learning Family Resource page. The APS Connected Learning Family Resource page provides needed information that is helpful for families.
What does virtually learning look like?
Teachers will host google meets with your child. Your child will receive an invitation through his or her email address to join the google meet. All students will participate in google meets. Your child will also have free time in the day to complete activities and take brain breaks without the classroom teacher. During the teacher's virtual office hours they will respond to any online questions, concerns, and discuss completion of assignments. Please note that your child will have google meets with the Art teacher, Music teacher, Gym teacher, Tutor, and Counselor.
What will my child’s schedule look like? Here is a sample student work day.

Does Firestone Park have a PTA?
Presently, we do not have a PTA president or officers. I would love to host a virtual meeting with parents to discuss reestablishing our PTA. The Firestone Park PTA has a very positive impact on our school. I look forward to continuing with this partnership.
I have additional questions about activities and events that are occurring at Firestone Park.
Please go to Firestone Park’s Facebook Page for updates, type in Today's Firestone Park Elementary School. The Firestone Park Facebook Page is managed by Mrs. Julia Spangler, grade two teacher. Mrs. Spangler provides updated school events and information.
Thank you for your partnership this year. Our goal is to support our families as we launch our Distance Learning. I will make weekly all calls to provide information every Friday. Please feel free to contact me at (330)-773-1308 through the school office for questions, suggestions, or concerns.
Your partners in education,
Mrs. Jones, Principal, Ms Curry, Dean of Students, Mrs. Guysick, secretary, Mrs. Nemith, clerical,
Mrs. Stokes, Family Liaison, and Mr. Louis, School Counselor
